Sir,
the Governor of Hong Kong.
With reference to your letter of the 11th February 1910 to the Comptroller, India Treasuries, on the subject of your leave and persion contributions, I am directed to say that the Government of India have decided as follows.
(1) The claim for contributions in respect of leave will be waived, the effect of this being that you
will be considered to have earned no leave at the
expense of Indian revenues during your period of ser- vice in Hong Kong.
(2) The contribution on account of pension will be levied at one-sixth of the actual pay of the ap- pointment which you have been holding namely £300 a year, and the reduced amount will be recovered at that rate
namely £50 per annum with effect from the 19th June
1907, which is understood to be the date on which you were relieved of your appointment in India, penal inter- est being waived, and recoveries of arrears being effect- ed by instalments spread over 12 months.
(3) For the latter purpose, the arrears will be
held
